Shipping has an immediate opening in our Finished Packaging/Crating Specialist area. This is commonly known as “Polybag.”
Duties unique to this position include banding loads and materials to a pallet; inspecting units and loads for accuracy prior to packaging; cleaning area and requesting supplies as needed using the Kanban system. Position will work within the shipping department to determine deadlines and shipping requirements. Duties also include review of daily requirements with Production Leads, Inventory Control Manager, or Shipping Supervisor to determine assignment. Successful candidate will familiarize themselves with EDI safety, quality control, inventory control, production standards, and maintenance, and reporting on the Vantage software. Must be able after initial training to perform all facets of packaging and crating. Requires mental acuity and physical activity in a high functioning environment. Will assist in maintaining quality control requirements by ensuring all procedures are followed, inspecting completed work prior to packaging, and reporting any deficiencies of defective material of workmanship. High School diploma or GED is required. Mechanical aptitude is preferred, including the ability to read and use tape measures, propane torches, air tools, hand tools, and power tools in order to bag and create pallets prior to shipping. Must also learn overseas marking requirements (heat treat stamp). Position will be required to successfully complete forklift certification within 30 days of hire. Pre-employment background check and drug screen will be required, as well as EDI’s non-compete form.
Hours of position are 6:00-4:30, Mon-Thurs.
Starting pay: $16.00/hour.
